6th Session This Month

Pagi tadi berjaya jog 5kms dalam cuaca yang sangat nyaman. Semalam dah siap nak jog tapi mengenangkan sekolah anak comel buat larian merentas desa untuk semua tingkatan, rasa akan stuck di tengah lautan budak sekolah pulak. Sebenarnya untuk bulan ni baru 6 kali jog. Minggu lepas cuma sekali. Tengah fikir balik kenapa? Hujan kot?

But then, as I ran this morning, I thought of how much I have achieved since I started late November last year. That's less than 2 months ago. I remember in November - lari berpandukan "markers". Lari sekejap dan target markers, it could be a lamp post or a signboard yang hanya dalam 50m di depan. Sampai saja terus jalan. Lepas tu cuba target lagi satu marker. Lari dalam beberapa meter, jalan balik. Penat gila.

One fine day I decided not to set markers but distance. I ran 1km non-stop and it felt like a huge achievement 😊. Then I added 0.5km to it gradually until I managed to run 3kms non-stop. That felt like I ran a full marathon 😁! One day I just ran pass 3kms and achieved 5kms. Just like that. No in-betweens. And since then, I ran 5kms without stopping anymore. Ok la, once in a while kalau kena panjat bukit yang tinggi macam kat Legundi tu, I might power walk uphill!

My point is - running 5k can be done! And I am a living proof. At 46 years old, if I can do it, so can you. But the motivation needs to be set straight. I run to get healthy. Losing weight is a nice positive side-effect. This morning, I have actually lost 1.3kgs compared to my weight on 1st January. The loss might not be too significant, but gradually I hope to achieve an optimum BMI. Most important is to feel healthy. Nowadays, lepas lari masih ada energy untuk buat macam-macam benda. Tak lah melepek seharian macam dulu😅.

I guess participating in Samsung Global Challenge is a good motivation. There is this tendency to want to achieve target. And having a side-kick works as well. Bila tengok Hubbs dah achieve certain target memang rasa nak usaha lebih. Ada rasa dengki sikit😁!
The route this morning. Pagi tadi kawasan bawah Legundi tu sangat happening. The Zumba class was there so parking penuh. Ramai yang jog jugak. I had to park quite far. Di retention pond I rasa ada team bola baling tengah training kot. So I started from bawah Legundi, naik bukit sampai atas (bad decision sebab belum apa-apa dah pancit!), turun balik terus ke pedestrian walk opposite Putra 1, masuk kanan menghala ke Haji Tapah (half-way), pusing balik cross the road, lalu depan Putra 1, masuk retention pond 1.5 round (see that I patah balik sebab lepas tu budak-budak yang training tu semua naik), then pusing satu round setengah jalan bawah Legundi. Dapat 5kms 👍.

Lepas tu balik rumah fetch anak comel, pergi Haji Tapah makan tosey 😋! Adeh...
