This video is 2 years back but I kept on watching/listening to it. After Beauty and the Beast years years ago, terus jadi peminat setia Disney cartoons 😊. I remember listening to the tape of Aladdin soundtrack masa practical teaching. Drive dari rumah sewa di Dengkil ke Bukit Changgang, Banting. Among my housemates, I was the only one yang kena ajar sesi petang. Macam tau-tau je I ni tak berapa boleh bangun pagi! Sebelum ke sekolah, akan singgah kat satu rumah ni ambik sekali sorang student Form 1. I can't remember how we got into that arrangement. But at least, ada teman pergi dan balik sekolah. I think she must have thought I was crazy for playing the soundtrack of a cartoon almost every day. At one point I told her, listening to songs is one of the best ways to improve one's English. Mesti dia kata dalam hati - ye la, tapi main lah lagu lain Cikgu ooiii! Lea Salonga and Brad Kane sounded exactly the same. Even better. Kalau dengar saja tanpa tengok video memang terbayan...

Hari ni sambil buat my felt stuff, tengok balik documentary pasal Sudirman di iFlix. Lepas habis tengok, rasa macam nak dengar lagu-lagu dia. So, bukalah playlist di YouTube. I found this song. Rasa macam tak pernah dengar sebelum ni. Tak famous macam lagu-lagu dia yang lain kot. Ke I saja yang tak pernah dengar :). Tapi sekali dengar rasa touched sampai jauh nun kat dalam hati ni. Lalu terus main banyak-banyak kali. Sebab lagu ni pendek saja. Dan yang uniknya lagu ni tak ada "break" (betul ke term ni?). Lirik lagu ni pun sangat simple tapi I don't know, you just can relate to it. Emo tak akak malam-malam ni? Haha... Put your earphones on. Play the song full blast. Listen to the incredible voice of Sudirman. Personally, this is one song yang I rasa suara dia amazing. Lupa pulak. Title of the song: "Hanya Lagu" by Sudirman.

Lagu ni selalu keluar di radio. Lepas dengar 3-4 kali, melekat dalam kepala jadi earworm. Very cute song. And catchy too. I just read it's OST for a drama. Drama yang dipangkal namanya ada Mr. Huh? Never heard of the drama before this. I pun dah lama tak tengok TV Malaysia.

My insomnia is back... Can't sleep. Lagu ni dok main dalam kepala. Currently one of Aliyah's favourite songs. And her Mommy's too. I memang suka Bunkface. But this one really is catchy with a happy tune. It's romantic but "sempoi" at the same time. I imagine a couple having a fight and the hubby trying to apologize :) Pulanglah malam ini, bintang-bintang di langit sedang menari... Gosh, I kept having these lyrics in my head! Saya suka. Awak kata biasa je. Know what. Day by day our interest just keeps on falling apart.

If you ask me who's the most incredible, handsomest, heart-melting singer in the whole wide world, I would say Bryan Adams. Yup! One of the few singers who sounds really amazing singing live. One nice thing about subscribing to HyppTV is the iConcert channel. This afternoon when I came back home for a while to send Aliyah to school - Bryan Adams live in Sydney was on. Best, best! I think it was Hubby who kind of introduced me to Bryan Adams during our days in ITM. Once, he made a really big mistake and tried to apologize by playing " Please Forgive Me " to me in the car. Well, it worked until he suddenly disappeared to watch a few guys riding superbikes nearby. Anyway, Bryan Adams reminded me of the words said by Melvin Bragg (well, I don't really know who he is as we in Malaysia don't get to watch much British programmes). Stumbled upon this and I have been watching this hundreds of times a day. Not a sing-a-long song of course but sometimes feel like letting it out of my lungs like them. Kalau suara sedap la kan... Ni macam katak puru tak payah la berangan. Anyway, superb performance. Took the audience totally by surprise.

I ni bukanlah peminat AJL. Semalam masa AJL27, tak lah tengok pun. Tapi pasang TV dengar lagu. Once in a while masa lagu yang macam best tu I tengok lah. But, I was waiting for Yuna's song. Curious siapa yang akan perform ganti dia. I love Terukir Dibintang. Classic sangat. When Aizat came out - oh wow, ni dah macam cerita P. Ramlee. Then the whole set started to open up - the backup singers and the band and the images on the background. Macam kat French cafe. And you can actually feel it. The song was so, I don't know, "inviting"? Very comel, relaxed and can feel the storyline. Hari ni je I dah dengar ni 5 kali! Yuna - she is such a music genius. (And to think that I once attended our client ie that Kuantan agency's Raya open house and her father sang a Raya song...)

I was switching channels just now when I managed to catch the last song of a concert by Nidji. My favourite song of all time - Laskar Pelangi. I would have tears in my eyes every time I hear this song. It has "saved" me numerous times these past years. It would seek me when I most needed it. I know it sounds crazy. I guess Allah has many ways of reaching His hands to us. And one of His many ways of reaching to me is through this song. It started just like any other songs I have in my laptop. A nice song to listen to. And came that dark time in my life. That one particular time when for the first time in my life, I have no where to turn to, no one to turn to and didn't know what to do. Literally, I didn't know what to do. I remember driving along that quiet road with my mind blank. And this song came on the radio. That was the moment when I actually understood the meaning of the song and slowly strength came back to my numb body. Since then, I would listen to it when...

Smash season 1 has ended. There goes something I look forward to every Monday night! Now the long wait for season 2. The finale? It was awesome. The last song just shows how perfect Karen was  to play Marilyn. Ivy would have brought her unnecessary diva-ness with her and spoiled the effect. And she's not even a star - just another chorus girl. But Ivy actually sings better than Karen. Her rendition of White Baby Grand was amazing that I had that song in my head for days. We can just see that something might spark between Derek and Karen, now that the moody-talking-too-fast Dev is out of her life (I guess). Jack Davenport just nailed his character - this handsome proud and selfish guy  (when it's related to the show) with his sexy British accent. (Aliyah pun kata he's handsome!). And who would have thought he played Norrington in Pirates of the Carribean :). The final song - I think it's just brilliant that it summarizes the whole show.

Aliyah and I - we are both fans of Smash. The story is actually just so-so (and can sometimes be eye-brow rising - like seriously?) but the songs are simply amazing. Last night's show gave us another beautiful song and Aliyah loves it. Kelas tak taste anak aku kan? Broadway gitu!

I actually heard this on the radio on Sunday. Masa tu tengah dengar Sinar FM. And I can't get the song off my head since then. It was popular during my school days. Masa Form 2 kot. Such simple song with good vocals. Of course, singers during that time have good vocals. Unlike nowadays yang anybody and everybody can be singers. It's by Wheels. There's another one by them which I really like - Dalam Kenangan. Punyalah sedih dengar lagu ni lepas SPM and dah separated from friends masa kat asrama dulu. Anyway, I found this live version sang by the original singer. Suara sama je. Still excellent. I tengah hiburkan hati lepas penat buat sebutharga.

Ever since dah subscribe to Unifi ni, I actually dah kurang sikit tengok Astro. But need to give way for Aliyah to watch her favourite shows. Yang I still watch on Astro are Diva Universal channel - Smash, Covert Affairs; and AFC and TLC. Others - not really. Like I said before, HyppTV are not so great either but even with lesser channels, at least they have varieties. And it's really refreshing to watch other shows other than the ones being forcefully shown to us. On HyppTV, I love Red channel - the wonderful Japanese, Korean and Chinese movies. And now, I found another channel that I really enjoy - iConcerts. I love live music even though not much opportunities to watch real ones. Imagine - live concerts 24x7 - nice or what! And I got to catch Bryan Adam's Live at Slane Castle last week. Awesome! Such amazing voice...

I'm still at the office alone and I'm playing this song full blast with my headphone on. While I'm supposed to be working... This is the best version of the live concert I can find on YouTube. I have the version downloaded on MP3 but can't beat watching the live concert. To me, this song is the best song ever written. Ever. I first got acquainted with it in my teens when my Abang Ben came back from UK bringing home loads of LPs. Yes, the huge black ones. I was curious because the song was actually banned here, or so I heard last time due to the mention of Bismillah. After listening to it for the first time, I thought - this is such a "different" song. And I used to play it when my nephew and niece went to school. Now, I know that "different" actually refers to "brilliant". There's an analysis of it here . The song has no chorus and the operatic passage is intended as a mock opera. Full of emotions. I read somewhere this song is the OST for I'm Not Single. I have yet to watch the movie. And I read that it is also the OST for Adamaya, which I have also not watched. I actually saw a video clip of someone's wedding that uses this song on FB, and I immediately fell in love with it. So touching and beautiful. So romantic. And so honest. I am not the one to know the latest released songs. Nak dengar radio pun macam malas sebab they keep on playing the same songs over and over again. But once in a while terdengar some nice songs somewhere and I would go find it. This morning we were having breakfast at Kak Ruby's place when I heard this Indonesian song - after a TV drama series. I keyed-in a few lines of the lyrics into my phone. Aliyah asked what I was doing, so I told her here's how I usually do whenever I heard a song I like which I don't know what it's called or who sang it. I would note down a few lines of the lyrics, then google the lines to get the name of the song and the singer, then find the song on Youtube - to check whether it's the correct song, and finally download the song. I said, "Pandai tak Mommy?". She grinned widely at me and said, "Pandai. Sebab tu lah Mommy boss!". Hahaha... such cheeky girl. Nice song by Pilot Band. I can imagine a man of my dreams singing t...

I actually have not really watched Mama Mia entirely - at one sitting. It's not an easy feat for someone like me - either I'm in the middle of a chore or task, or I have to wait for my turn to watch my TV show, or I might go to the kitchen to check on something or have a drink for a few seconds and come back to a cartoon. Yesterday I actually managed to sit through the movie till the end. Abba songs are of course full of soul. I was so touched with Slipping Through My Fingers scene when Donna helped her daughter prepare for her wedding, I had tears in my eyes. Any Mommy (or Abah) watching it will shed a tear... My current favourite song. I was driving one day with all these thoughts in my head. I was at the brink of extreme nervousness and break down as for the first time in more than one year, I have quite a gap between projects. Some things are within grasp, but not yet, and we never know as anything can happen... My head was spinning. And then out of nowhere that dreadful woman's words came crashing to mind and I felt my heart being crushed to pieces. When one is at her most vulnerable, such things happen you see... And this song came on air. And I took a deep breath and thank God for I am blessed with many of His gifts.
