Berniaga Sambil Menolong

One thing about having a bike shop is the satisfaction of running it. At times sales are high. At times sales are low. There was once (early days), we had only RM5 of sale for the day. Alhamdulillah, people have started to know us and we have growing number of customers. However, what satisfied us I believe is the spirit of helping. Especially kids. We have this group of kids that frequent our shop. And they are one of our best "advisors". They tell us what we should stock up based on their interest, they ask questions, the dreamily touch the bikes that like, they make faces at the glass wall snooping the bikes that aimed, and they even become our "spies". They tell us what items we sell lower or higher than the other shops. One even told us - his friend bought a bike at that other shop. Very cheap but after 3 days, the bike is "rosak". Cannot ride anymore. I told him, "that's why we sell quality bikes but slightly higher price". And he agreed.

I checked our cash bill and found early mornings Hubby would have customers buying tubes. Average price of tubes is RM15-18 depending on the type of bikes. I was made to understand that these customers are mostly kids on the way to school who stopped by to change their tyre tubes. One cash bill stated RM8 whereas the price is RM15. Hubby said - that kid had only RM8 spare in his pocket and he accepted. Today, another kid came for the 2nd time in a matter of days to change tube again. He said some naughty kids stabbed people's bikes at school with pens. I told him we will complain to the teacher at school about it. When I checked the cash bill, Hubby charged him RM10, instead of the usual RM15.

I am so proud of him... (muaaahh!!!).
