My Highest Respect for These School Teachers

Hari ni ada Majlis Jalinan Kasih di sekolah Aliyah. It's a 2-in-1 event - meraikan those yang dapat 5A dalam UPSR tahun lepas dan briefing untuk parents yang anak-anak akan ambil UPSR tahun ni. Aliyah went to SK Bangi less than a year and a half before transferring to SKBSP in 2009. Since I've been observing from the school site was just a flat land full of bushes to its construction to its completion to it opening its doors on its first day, I do feel some kind of attachment to it. Fondness if I may say. (Walaupun tak pernah pergi meeting PIBG! Opps...). Today I have this new found respect for the teachers of the school especially the ones teaching Year 6. Such highly dedicated teachers with energy and drive to make sure the students excel.

It is such a proud moment when it was announced that the school was 7th in rank in Hulu Langat for UPSR performance ie 90% out of 60++ schools. And mind you, it only started UPSR exam in 2010. The Penolong Kanan shared her story when she tried to persuade some parents to transfer their kids to the school when the school opened (those yang hantar kids to schools in Putrajaya and Bdr Baru Bangi sebab tak nak anak sekolah kampung) but was given skeptical remarks such as "sekolah baru sangat tak tau performance macam mana lagi" and "entah-entah cikgu semua yang reject dari sekolah lain". But the teachers have made the school excel and now berlumba-lumba lah pulak terima students sampai kena tolak.

We were given the school's strategies for the students this year - programmes, events, etc. From the look of it, I believe that the programmes are good enough for Aliyah - no need extra tuition classes. And yang buat hati sebak sebenarnya - to boost the kids' spirits, they were asked to make a pledge to the teachers, parents and themselves to excel. I pray that anak-anak di SKBSP yang akan ambil UPSR tahun ni akan berjaya dengan cemerlang - dunia dan akhirat.

Pics below tapi very low quality. Hubby tak dapat attend this. Ada emergency bike case :(.
Aliyah's pledge. I was asked to sign too. This is our copy to be kept at home.
Very emotional letter. Hehe... Siap mintak maaf pada Mommy & Abah sebab melawan cakap. Hmm... dia sebenarnya tak pernah melawan cakap. Tak ikut cakap, tu memang ada!
All of them were given this small sticker and asked to write their own message. That's Aliyah's.
The messages were taped to these buntings and arranged at the stage.
Mula-mula parents kena baca ikrar, lepas tu teachers pulak!
Last sekali, all 374 candidates of this year's UPSR lined up facing the parents and teachers - the boys on stage, the girls lined up in front and at the centre. They read their ikrar, and then sang Faizal Tahir's "Gemuruh" with such high spirit. Image being surrounded by 300++ kids singing their hearts out with such vigor. I had tears in my eyes (emotional betul lah!).
