Aliyah's Graduation Ceremony

We were at Aliyah's school today for her graduation ceremony. We were there yesterday because we had to come collect Aliyah's phone which got confiscated. And we will be there tomorrow to collect her UPSR results. Talking about spending time at her school these last few days of school term!

Actually, duduk dalam dewan saja dah buat hati I ni sebak. My daughter is completing her primary school. She'll be in secondary school next year! Cepatnya besar... Sigh... And while waiting for the event to start, they played slideshows of photos of the Year 6 kids - from the day they pledged that they will strive to get good results early in the year, the photos of their journey towards it (the seminars, camps, classes, etc), their activities, and many more. Siap background lagu pun menghibakan hati... Sedih tau...

We stayed till after Aliyah received her scroll and the performance during the first break - BM choral reading (entah apa berirama I dah tak ingat). Quite good actually. They team won state championship. Impressive. Terus teringat pengalaman masuk choral reading masa Form 5 dulu. That was fun. Anyway... we went off after that for breakfast and a meeting. We reached the hall just as the academic staff walked out the main door - complete with kids and a teacher bearing "cokmar" and keris, and the teachers wearing robes. School nowadays go all out on things like this. Nice.

After Maghrib hantar Aliyah ke Majlis Makan Malam Graduasi. Strictly teachers and students only. So, Aliyah's parents duduk kedai mamak makan malam. I fetched her just an hour ago and she looked like she had so much fun.

So, UPSR results is tomorrow. Unlike last week, I actually am so OK now. I guess it's no big deal. Know why? Because I now realised that the exam results really is no big deal. The challenge now is for my daughter to step into a new phase in her life - secondary school. There will be a whole new world waiting for her. And letting her step into that new world is what's twisting in my guts. I pray we as parents will be there to guide her and we hope she will always turn back to us for guidance. The time will come when she might value her friends more than her parents. I guess we just have to face that.

It's a big, big and scary world out there... We have been through it and we survived with memories (good and bad) and experience (also good and bad). Now it's Aliyah's turn. We pray for her. Always.
Macam comel je ambil scroll. Macam comel je. Macam comel je...
So cute in red robes.
Tema dinner is "English". So dah belikan dia blouse dan long skirt. But then Aliyah and her friends decided they are not going to follow the theme and wear T shirts and jeans instead. Ish, penat tau merayau Alamanda cari baju hari tu! Love you anyway...
Mommy dengan patiently menunggu Aliyah ikat tali kasut...
Aliyah dengan telitinya ikat tali kasut...
