Day 1: Vietnam 20 Apr 16

Survived Vietnam :). Pagi-pagi dah tumpang Linda ke airport walaupun flight 11.10am. Siap pegi breakfast, duduk-duduk, borak-borak... KLIA2 kan besar. Takut tak sempat boarding, tu yang awal dah sampai.
Adventure dah nak mula!

I was armed with my "travel book" full of notes, maps, names of shops, even the dishes to eat at the restaurants (so that I don't waste money eating food yang tak sedap). Siap ada table with currency exchange. At one glance saja dah tau! Tak payah nak convert guna calculator.

Touch down saja plan dah lari. Instead of taking the bus which is very, very cheap (baru RM2), Linda wanted to take the taxi. Oklah, dia yang nak bayar kan. So, bermulalah exposure kepada culture Vietnam - the people, the traffic... especially the traffic! Very mind-boggling :).

Our hotel is a bit far from the Ben Thanh market. Sebenarnya tak lah jauh but across the main street. Nak ke sana kena cross jalan tu yang nampak macam jauh. Jalan dalam 150 meter je. Lepas check-in terus cari lunch.
Lunch kat Kampung Melayu. Halal food in Vietnam is really expensive. Kawan I ni tak kira. Dia belasah gak makan ikan... Adoii... Tapi sedap.

Lepas makan, masuk Cho Ben Thanh. As expected, memang noisy and stuffy and hot. Some sellers just couldn't care less while some were aggressive. Linda memang terus rambang mata tengok segala kain. As for me, I'm not the shopping type kot. So-so saja lah. But the sports goods look really tempting! Nike sports bra yang I dah lama nak beli tu cuma RM25. Hehehe...

Baru sampai Linda dah start beli Prada lace, Vietnam silk dan tempah baju. I thought of Aliyah and got one jubah made for her. Sayang anak kan, baru sampai dah fikir barang untuk dia dulu! Lepas Ben Thanh, balik hotel rehat sekejap, malam keluar semula pergi pasar malam - yang penjualnya adalah orang yang sama!

Anyway, funny thing I experienced at the hotel room. Bila bukak almari nak simpan baju.... Opocot!
Sekali ada pocong Vietcong lah... Fuh! Semangat!
