Ipoh Trip

I was in Ipoh with Linda and my niece Atiqah on Monday & Tuesday. We organised a training for the state Govt. Training still going on until Friday by our trainer. I left Aliyah in the capable hands of Hubby.

Know what, I don't like Ipoh at all. It's such a confusing town/city. The signboards are not driver-friendly. After hours of driving, I finally got the drift - when the signboard shows "Turn Left", you turn left NOW. Unlike the signboards here in KL/Selangor where when it says turn left, it means you turn left at the next turning. I spent hours finding our way around. We felt like in twilight zone - if you think of the place you wish to go, you will never find it... you will find it eventually though. But if you think of going elsewhere, you will find that place you wanted to go just now in a jiffy! But then you find the new place you wish to go hours later. And we didn't really get to eat the good food in Ipoh. Our timing was out due to our schedule, and when we have the time and want to eat - we didn't know where. Maybe next time.

We stayed at Heritage Hotel. Bad choice. Too far from eating places (have to drive out), facilities sucks (not even a gym). The only consolation was our window faced the palace of Raja DiHilir, so we kept gawking at the window hoping to catch a glimpse. (Nope, nobody showed up). On the way back yesterday, we stopped by Sg Klah Hot Spring. Nice place. Didn't stay too long though. It was raining anyway.
The cold mountain water pool. No chlorine.
You can boil eggs here.
Therapy section. Hot water flows at these stepping stones. Very hot. But after that felt really good.
One of the smaller pools. I wanted to soak my legs up to my knees hoping the water can make my bad right knee better. Can't even go deeper than my ankle. So hot!

My feet and back still ache from the 570kms of driving. How I wish for the hot spring.

ipoh indeed is weird. i always got lost although been there few times. i stayed at excelsior last weekend, horrible, staff not friendly. waited for almost 2 hrs for our towels, housekeeping said towel belum sampai dari laundry. hello, belilah byk sikit. food for breakfast horrible (tahulah free) with tables not cleared sampai kena suruh baru buat. spa and gym yes but something fishy looking at the brochure, a sexy lady wearing sleeveless massaging a male client, macam ada extra service aje.
