Work + Mini Vacation

Alhamdulillah we are back. Safe and sound. What an eventful time we had. Full of fun, stress, tension, panic, "redha", mind-boggling incidents, all rolled out into one.

We started our journey very early ie 6.15am on Friday. However, some smart-ass decided KL is the best place to organise a Grand Prix despite our country having the Sepang Circuit and ruined other people's plans. It took us only 15 minutes to reach LDP at Puchong but ended up almost 1.5 hours in a jam until the road finally cleared after Kota Damansara.

After that this still mind-boggling thing happened, which I will tell later. As a result, we submitted our sebutharga at 12.07pm. Seven minutes late! Ours is still accepted despite getting a note stamped on the envelop saying "late". I pray the client has this 10-15 minutes buffer and hope ours is being considered.

After that, lunch at McD Teluk Cempedak and then we checked-in at Hyatt Kuantan. The hotel will close for a year starting 1 Sept for renovation. Looking at the furniture - it's about time! But we experienced such a wonderful time there, received excellent service and I simply regret not being able to spend another short holiday, this time bringing Hubby along. Rasanya memang tak sempat before 1 Sept.

Despite driving for 5 hours, the last 30 minutes with the skill at par with an F1 driver, I am the kind of person who cannot rest when I'm tired. It's the adrenaline rush. So, we sat for a while and then hit the beach. Just walking and talking and enjoying the sun, sand and sea... and the wifi! Bliss.

That night, our plan to "ukur mall" didn't materialise because it rained quite heavily. So, it was just TV and then sleep.

Next morning we had a wonderful breakfast and right after, we hit the beach again. Tak tukar baju pun. Just lompat masuk laut yang walaupun agak rough but still quite safe. Bila dah naik bilik, baru realised the pockets of my pants were full of sand!

We headed to try Mee Calong after checking-out. Antara banyak-banyak tempat, Joe's Mee Calong was the nearest. The reviews I read were mixed. Verdict - personally - tidak sesuai dengan tekak I. OK, but not excellent.

The drive home was smooth until we reached KL. Another almost 2 hours stuck in jam. Why, oh why suka menyusahkan orang wahai organiser of KL Grand Prix? The Grand Prix was still on, traffic got diverted to other roads and innocent people like me had to endure unnecessary traffic jam. Reached home at 7.15pm. That's another 5 hours of driving. Selalunya dalam 3.5-4 hours max.

It was such a lovely short vacation. Just us girls - me, Linda and Aliyah. Thank you Hyatt Kuantan for such excellent service despite counting the days to close for renovation.
Sand, sea and sky (sun tak nampak di sini!)
 Sesekali akak selfie ok :)
Aliyah loves the beach. Sebelum pegi tanya macam-macam. She's more of a swimming pool than a beach person. Baru tau best :)
Buffet breakfast yang agak excellent. Tapi tak cukup excellent for Aliyah sebab tak ada roti canai. Rasa macam nampak Chef masak tapi penat bukak semua periuk tak ada. So I asked the Chef - "do you have roti canai?". The Chef said, "not today. We alternate. Today we have putu mayam with dhal". "Oooo... Ok," I said dengan agak hampa, "just that my daughter loves roti canai". The Chef smiled and said, "Roti canai is ala carte, but I can make one specially for you. Just give me a few minutes". About 10 minutes later, the Chef personally came to our table to deliver Aliyah's roti canai. Excellent service!
Nenek baju merah tu dah lama tak jumpa air laut :)
Lepas keluar laut, masuk pool kejap.
This is Mee Calong at Joe's. Near Beserah. Simple dish, clean fish broth taste. But I don't like the keropok lekor being made into fishballs. I guess orang belah Selangor/KL are so used to the white fishballs, and keropok lekor being fried.
