Admiral Cove - Thursday 23 May 2013

We planned our holiday to start on Thursday - yup, when people are still working and kids are still schooling. I really looked forward to the short holiday. The day before - a presentation to a GLC for our proposed English training with the most amazing girls - Enida and Anita - went quite well but I had to revise the proposal and costing. So, Thursday morning was spent doing just that. And such a stressful revision. I finished it at 12 noon on the dot and emailed with prayers - semoga inilah rezeki buat kami ya Allah...

Hubby, who was supposed to get a leave had to attend a meeting 3-5pm, which made me really pissed off. I mean, this was planned 2 weeks ago so what's the use of booking the hotel if we were to reach there what - at night? Picked up Aliyah from school and she sulked. I felt so sorry for her. She was so excited for the past few days. With the bags all packed, we had to wait. Alhamdulillah Hubby managed to get hold of my nephews - Along Iwan and Izzat - and they happily agreed to send us both while Hubby will join us after he finished his work.

So, the two boys drove us to Avillion Admiral Cove (I booked via booking.com got the first night 50%!). They didn't stay long preferring to venture PD on their own. After the hot weather cooled off a little bit, we both hit the pool. Glorious swimming pool - with trees shading the place. Love it. Just next to it is the marina with luxurious yatch.

Then headed to the beach next door to catch sunset. Just a short walk. Nice beach but the tide was rising and rubbish was strewn all over the shoreline. I remember one time in my life when I was young and adventurous, I seriously considered getting a job at one of the beach resorts in the East Coast and dreamed of walking by the beach every morning with a plastic bag - to enjoy the sun, sea and sand and collect rubbish. (Well, besides other dreams of working with a turtle sanctuary, becoming a photo-journalist, writing a best-seller...).

Hubby reached the hotel at 9pm after 3 hours of driving in the traffic jam...
Aliyah with Along Iwan figuring out how the TV works.
She loves the room. And she knows how most things work - said similar to the hotel she went to last week for her camp.
I love this pic of Aliyah.
 The catamaran named "Ayah".
A short walk among the trees to the beach.
She loves watching the fish. She saw a jellyfish earlier and tried to spot it again. She said - "ada ke Along panggil jellyfish tu "otak-otak". Obor-obor lah!".
We get the pool just to ourselves. Not many people around yet. Bliss.
Catching the sunset...
