Let's see, how many channels are there on Astro? Banyak sangat... I don't know if it's just me, but I always, always can't find anything interesting to watch on TV. Like last night, I scrolled the channels like 3 times until I settled to an obvious choice - cerita P. Ramlee - Seniman Bujang Lapok.
I'm a fan of the 3 bujang lapok. The trio tells simple stories. Real people stories. No need to get too creative and invent imaginary plots. They tell of things around them. What kind of life people lead at that time. One amazing thing about P. Ramlee is that his subjects are universal and timeless. It happened during his time, the same thing happened now perhaps in slightly different manner but still same issues.
There're these scenes where Sudin got conned by a Benggali who sold him a stone which can make any "worldly" dreams come true. He bought it for 10 ringgit. Then when Ramlee wanted to get married but got no money, Sudin volunteered to get him the money using the powers of the stone. He got the money alright, not 350 ringgit as wanted but only 5 ringgit. Tu sama lah macam Internet investment tu. Invest RM350, get daily income without doing anything. End of 2 months, get double of the investment.
If life is that easy, Bill Gates dah lama tutup Microsoft and buat that kind of business. OK, bad example. Bill Gates tu lagi teruk dari those Internet investment scams.
But seriously, money don't come that easy. You've got to work for it. And work smart you must. I just can't see the logic of trusting a virtual bank account. Sedang kan physical bank pun you can't really trust, inikan pulak depositing money to a website you don't even know who's behind it and hope the money multiplies. And you don't need Nostradamus to predict this to happen again and again. Because it happens again and again and again sampai penat baca. Why people don't learn from other people's mistake I really don't know. Perhaps the temptations. Or maybe the hope that this time around things will be different.
