We Have Moved!

I have been disconnected from the Internet for a week. It's good to be back!

Alhamdulillah... Finally we have moved! To our dream home. After the almost 1 year wait after the house was completed, I wake up every morning pinching my arm to make sure I really wake up in the new house.

We moved on Tuesday. There were only the two of us plus the movers. Now after almost 1 week, we have settled in. For Aliyah it is a double bonus - new school and new house. It has been a tiring week but very satisfying. After all the hard work, here we are reaping the fruits of our labour.

Hubby has been so rajin around the house. He quickly made the house livable for Aliyah and me. And one thing about me being a web consultant and him being a web editor, we both made sure the house has all usability elements (hehehee...). Things are organised logically, finding one's way is also easy. For example, the small gate next to the autogate has navigational element leading to the patio, so people visiting just know where to go. (Yea, yea, I'm making this up as I go...).

There's still much to do and it's so exciting. I have my little garden to work on. Yesterday our new neighbour have me 2 polybags of chilli plant. And I have been working with Aliyah planting vegetable seeds - sawi, brinjal, corns and just to experiment - tomatoes. Let's see if they can grow!

A lot of people have asked when the house warming will be... Soon I hope.
My kitchen. On its first day of opening, it cooked chicken rice for 10 people - the Melaka clans. And it served its intended purpose - being a cozy place to sit, eat and talk. On the left is our study area. There are still old files we need to clear out.
Our living room. The wall is still bare. Still thinking what to put there.
Our recycled and refurbished furniture. We bought the chairs and the sofa after we got married. The two chairs now received new set of "clothes" - custom made and we put them near the front doors. The round gold-coloured mirror was bought at a second hand shop near Nilai. It was originally a mirror from Shangri-la Hotel (or so we were told).
The leather sofa is put in front of the store room - I have Hubby to thank for getting the sliding doors made. We bought a coffee table that looks like an old chest. Love it. Now waiting for Linda to finish making big cushions to sit on. (Bila lah nak siap!)

DK, cushion tu kasi empuk2 ya? kasi raja dan permaisuri serta tuan puteri bertakhta.

org melaka tu kalau terjun perigi hang li po lagi bagus. badut istana sudah tak diperlukan lagi, out of date.
