I have been having ear-ache for the past week. Terrible, sampai demam and migrain. Had one last week, then another one yesterday. Hubby kesian and took the trouble to rush me to an ENT specialist. He then had trouble with his boss as the boss sms back saying "sending wife to clinic doesn't comply for emergency leave", but then his love for his wife obviously over-ride his love for his boss so he just ignored.
What I found out is that most specialist do part-time work at all these small clinics - most of them are available at certain hours of the day or by appointment only. We found a few in Kajang but then the doctors are only available at night. Finally found one clinic with the shortest waiting time - after lunch. So we waited for a few hours.
Anyway, before this hubby was the one who "treated" my ear-ache. He used a small torchlight and actually cleaned my ears. He said there's a big pimple in my ear. Punya lah sakit, macam the ones you normally get right smack on the tip of your nose or on your forehead - yang besar tu. Image one inside your ear! Because of that I get fever at night because it's too painful.
So, here're my accounts with the doctor:
1. I went in to see him - he looked like he's in his late 40s or early 50s and quite sloppily dressed. Aisey, si Marisa kata he's the best around this area, betul ke?
2. He asked what the problem was and recorded what I said into his PC - good start.
3. Then he said let's see what the inside of your ear looks like. Look at the TV. Look, look. So I looked at this big TV mounted on the wall while he put in this camera thingy inside my ear.
4. Oh my God, is that how the inside of my ear looks like??? If you feel like imagining, just image cerita Alien, yucks! There're these whitish things around that he said are fungi and then there is this red blister at the side and then hanging from the top is a huge pimple ready to burst. See, I told you this is a yucky entry!
5. He said don't worry, he'll clean it up. I need to eat some antibiotics and some pills and my ear will be as good as new. What's the cause? He said, many, many reasons - may be some water got into your ear, or may be it got injured when you cleaned it... many, many reasons.
6. Then he used this thingy (I didn't look, of course. I closed my eyes.) and sucked whatever those things are in my ears.
7. 10 minutes and he's all done.
So, today I'm feeling better. But I still see these images of the insides of my ears. Yucks. I really hope I don't get it again.
