Ended with a Bang

I am a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory. I think it's such a fantastic sitcom. Intelligent and quirky. It's the nerds' version of Friends. After 12 seasons, it ended today. I watched the 2 back-to-back episodes dreading for the ending. For Friends, the end was quite tearful and left me with a sense of lost. As the group put their keys to the apartment on the kitchen counter, we all know that their lives won't be the same because they are separating. Starting disparate new lives away from each other.

For TBBT... How do I put it? Fantastic ending. Too much crammed in the last 2 episodes but they tied up nicely. Surprises here and there. But the perfect send off.

I love the ending. We got to see the lift being fixed. Yes, finally! We also got to see Howard's and Bernadette's kids. They are adorable! Sheldon and Amy won the Nobel Prize. Of course they did. They are brilliant. Amy got a makeover by Raj. And she looked fabulous! Yes, by Raj, not Penny! And when Sheldon got distressed by all the spotlight and changes in his life after winning the Nobel Prize, who consoled him? Penny of course. She is the only one who could sit down and talk sense into him. She is that protective (but cruel at the same time!) sister he never had. And speaking about brother-sister relationship, Penny and Leonard are expecting! Well, I actually knew all along Penny will be pregnant before the show ends. Because that would be the best ending to the couple.

The best part is Sheldon's speech at the ceremony. He finally realised that the Nobel Prize he won was not his efforts alone. His friends made him who he's become. It was so touching when he ditched his "90-minute" speech text and instead thanked all the important people in his life, including his friends. And when he asked them to stand, one by one, and addressed them by their salutations (Astronaut, Howard Wolowitz... OMG finally!), it showed how he acknowledge and love them. I had tears in my eyes watching this, ehemm... so was Hubbs!

The final scene, unlike Friends, the group was seen having takeaway dinner at the sofa of Leonard's and Penny's apartment, as always, comfortably enjoying each others' company. That was such a heart-warming ending.
Thank you for the 12 wonderful seasons!
