Jalan-Jalan KL

As planned, anak comel and I went for an excursion to the city yesterday. And we had a blast despite the so very hot weather. I clocked about 15,000 steps, so you can imagine how far we walked! Itu pun sebenarnya lalu banyak short-cuts. Apparently my teenage experience going around KL by foot helped a lot! Here's the chronicle of our "adventure".

We started with breakfast at around 9am.
First stop - McDonalds Bandar Seri Putra. Kena isi perut dulu!

Then, off to MRT Kajang. Park kereta kat sana and board the MRT to Muzium Negara. Muzium Negara? Yup! My last visit was when I was in primary school. Anak comel pulak tak pernah pergi!
Off to an adventure! Sebenarnya nak tunjuk yang akak korang ni dah kena pakai spec 😎.
40 minutes later we arrived at Muzium Negara. Kejap je.
Sangat retro floor tiles tangga Muzium Negara ni.

I rasa sekarang ni baru boleh appreciate experience pergi Muzium Negara. Sebab dah tau sejarah negara kan. Surprisingly, anak comel nampak agak interested. We ogled at the beautiful, unique and intricate jewelries - from the ones found at sites like Lembah Bujang to the ones belonged to the royalties and merchants. So beautiful!

I told anak comel that there was this huge bronze statue of Hang Tuah I remembered during my visit when I was in primary school. I think I was in Standard 2 or 3 then. When I saw the statue again... Hmm... tak lah besar dan tinggi sangat. Dalam 12 kaki kot. I must be very short then 😅!

We spent about an hour at the museum. Visited all 4 halls. There were 2 exhibitions outside but we decided not to see. I tried finding that black locomotive I remember from back then but couldn't find it.
Bas mini pink ni adalah 😁!

After that we walked via this underground pedestrian walkway from Muzium Negara MRT station to KL Sentral. Amazing. Just around 500 meters only. You have to touch you TnG card and go up and down 3-4 escalators. At the end of the walkway, touch your TnG card again. You actually have to pay 80 sen for that comfortable walk. OK lah kan.

Next, memandangkan anak comel memang pantang tengok mall, I bawak dia naik Nu Sentral kejap. I told her - "tak best pun sebab crowded". Janji dia puas hati! We then took the LRT to Masjid Jamek and then walked to Jalan TAR. Time for lunch.
Our lunch? Restoren Insaf. Dulu-dulu masa I buat EPF project pernah makan kat sini. Teringat the beryani was awesome. Tapi yang penting, kat sini Mango Lassi dia sedap!
Tengok tu, habis sepinggan!

Lepas perut kenyang, we traced our way back stopping at the arcades and shops at Jalan TAR and Masjid India. Anak comel rambang mata. Heeppp... nanti dulu jangan beli apa-apa. Raya lama lagi! But we did the usual stuff - keluar masuk kedai 😅. The weather at that time was so hot. By then it was past 2pm. I decided to forgo our next stop - the Textile Museum near Dataran Merdeka. Tak pernah lagi pergi tapi macam tak sempat. Next time then. We went straight to Central Market. Quite a long walk there. Lalu tepi Masjid Jamek, cross the river, walked next to the court buildings where Benteng used to be. The whole place looks so nice now with small pools and fountains. Masyaallah... cantik. Kalau tak panas sangat memang stop rehat-rehat bawah pokok!
Nampak ramai tourists Mat Salleh ambik gambar River of Life, kita orang pun join sama!

We headed to Central Market Annexe. I told anak comel dulu-dulu the top floor used to house this small cinema. Tempat selalu tengok wayang dengan ex-boyfriend yang sekarang dah jadi Hubbs 😆. The annexe is now an art centre. Next, we explored Central Market. Masa pergi dengan geng-geng dulu tak sempat naik tingkat atas. Kali ni pusing habis-habis.
These floor tiles are so beautiful!

By then it was close to 4pm. One last stop - we went to this kopitiam at Medan Pasar. Just a short walk away. While walking, I told anak comel dulu-dulu area tepi CM tu tempat tunggu bas. When I was in school, CM bukan tempat tourist sangat pun. Sebenarnya tempat budak sekolah melepak. It was right smack at the centre of the city - dekat dengan Puduraya, Stesyen Bas Kelang dan bus stop Jalan Kasturi tu tempat budak sekolah KL naik turun bas, boleh lunch on cheap food at the food court at CM roof top, tempat yang banyak kedai buku, kedai stationery dan tuition centre. So naturally, memang kawasan CM tu selalu penuh dengan budak sekolah. Sekarang ni je tourists ramai 😎. Best tak akak jadi tourist guide? Berdasarkan pengalaman sebenar 😂...
We had roti bakar with telur separuh masak at Cafe Old Market Square. I sebenarnya search for nearest kopitiam dan jumpa tempat ni. Sangat old school. Belakang tu siap ada gambar Yap Ah Loy! The kopi O here was so good!

Finally, walked to MRT Pasar Seni and headed back to Kajang. One whole day of adventure around a very small part of KL.  Banyak lagi tempat nak pergi. Next adventure eh!
