Introducing... Our New Home

We officially moved in to the new house on 26 February bringing with us loads of suitcases, boxes and things stuffed into black plastic bags. Like I mentioned before, we only brought with us 2 study tables and 2 bookshelves from the old house. Selling a corner-lot double storey house and buying a 1044sqft apartment meant that we have quite a nice sum of "leftover" to be used to furnish the new place. However, we had to bear living in a "not-so-completed" house for almost 2 months before everything was finally finished. That meant dust (a lot of dust!) and nerve wrecking drilling noise! Alhamdulillah, berkat our patience, now our house is very cozy and I must say beautiful.

The journey was quite winding. At first, we opted for a place just next door. It was slightly bigger, a bit more expensive (even though still below market price) and just about 2 years of completion. However, just a few days after, one fine afternoon after Asar prayers, I was down with anxiety attack about the house. To cut it short, we searched for other places and had to forgo the booking fee. Alhamdulillah, it was for the best. We finally found the most perfect place - it was not new (5 years completion) however it felt so new because the owner has never stayed there before. It was a bare unit. The moment I set foot into the house I can feel my heart warming. And the view was just amazing. Two days after viewing we confirmed our interest and the rest is history.

The journey...

Opening the door to our new future. That moment we call this our new home...
One of the reasons why we chose this house - this view. Insyaallah it will stay the same. And for some reason, this makes our home very windy.
It has this long pool which we actually haven't explored.
I can imagine our anak-anak sedara and cucunda playing in the pool. But so far not yet!
After about 2 weeks, we got our beds. So, no more sleeping on toto!
Before the kitchen was ready, we bought a new fridge first.
It was really difficult at first, without curtains...
And the TV in our bedroom had to be on boxes...
Every 3 days or so, we would go do laundry!
After nearly a month of staying here, we finally have our curtains!
A few weeks later, the kitchen was installed. But the counter top needed another week to install.
After that, wardrobe... I must be in the state of tingtong when we selected the colour of our wardrobe. Everything is grey!
Finally, the kitchen was ready!
The first dish I cooked - asam pedas daging tetel. Anak comel lah request.
We decided to buy both washing machine and dryer. So, no more trips to the launderette.
Slowly and surely we started adding other items - carpets, TV cabinet, potted plants, more potted plants...

Alhamdulillah, our house is completed. Actually ada lagi tapi tak lah major. The lamps for living room and dining area have yet to be installed. But we are OK because the floor lamps are there serving their purpose. We also still need to mount the TV to the wall and put up mirrors and stuff. Insyaallah...

Stay safe folks...
