Introducing... Our New Home

We officially moved in to the new house on 26 February bringing with us loads of suitcases, boxes and things stuffed into black plastic bags. Like I mentioned before, we only brought with us 2 study tables and 2 bookshelves from the old house. Selling a corner-lot double storey house and buying a 1044sqft apartment meant that we have quite a nice sum of "leftover" to be used to furnish the new place. However, we had to bear living in a "not-so-completed" house for almost 2 months before everything was finally finished. That meant dust (a lot of dust!) and nerve wrecking drilling noise! Alhamdulillah, berkat our patience, now our house is very cozy and I must say beautiful.  The journey was quite winding. At first, we opted for a place just next door. It was slightly bigger, a bit more expensive (even though still below market price) and just about 2 years of completion. However, just a few days after, one fine afternoon after Asar prayers, I was down with anxiety a

Yes, It's a New House

Photos of my home look different. Yes, because it's not the same house. We have moved to a new home. Hubbs and I decided we need a smaller place years ago. I think when anak comel was in Form 5. We put our house on the market, people come to see, but it was not until last November that someone finally made an offer. At first we thought the process would take a long time. So, we delayed packing our things. But at the end of February, our lawyer messaged Hubbs saying the final disbursement was in and we had 7 days to vacate the house. Who would have thought that we would manage to clear 14 years of stuff in just 7 days? It was tiring, exhausting, heart-breaking even. Every single stuff we gave away or threw away had such sentimental value to us. But then as my niece Ati said - "Hati kering je Ateh". Hubbs and I discussed, we were not sad leaving the house, but the memories that we made there had such profound impact.  Things were haywire starting that end of February. Alha

Hope Not Too Late - Selamat Hari Raya!

It's already 11 Syawal. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all of you. Maaf zahir batin ya. I think this is the best Raya after a while. We had people at our place, we went beraya. Alhamdulillah... Everybody called it "tiba-tiba raya" because it was expected to be on Tuesday. Rasanya at least the past 10 years Hari Raya memang ikut kalendar. This year I started a day early (konon!). Hari Ahad tu, petang dah start masak rendang daging. Esoknya plan nak masak rendang ayam dan nasi impit. Malam raya kononnya nak rehat-rehat tengok cerita Korea! Sekali tu dah announce Raya, terus keluarkan ayam dan naikkan nasi impit. Siap masak dekat jam 1 pagi. Adoiyai... but it was kinda fun actually. I dah tak ingat bila last kita Raya surprise macam tu. Dulu-dulu masa kecik-kecik memang macam tu. I told anak comel - you got to experience what we experienced last time! Kelam-kabut masak! We had quite a bunch at our place in the morning. Alhamdulillah... seronok rasanya jadi host ni. Bila te
