Another 3 Things This Weekend

1. It's exam week for Aliyah. I pray that she do well in her exams. She spent the weekend studying with her friend at her friend's house. More fun and productive that way I hope!

2. We bought an advanced birthday present for Aliyah. Right after our meeting with our favourite agency last Wednesday, we straight away went to a Samsung outlet. To cut a not-so-long story very short, we bought her a present that at this moment we cannot really afford (... bills, loans, etc would have to wait...). But to buy her a lesser "techie" present wouldn't do justice to her intelligence. Our little girl is such a techie. Give her any gadget and she will be able to operate it in 5 minutes. A couple of years ago, her Mak Ngah just got herself a Samsung phone (I can't remember what model then - the first few earlier touch screen phone models) and still figuring out how to send a text message when she offered to take a look, touched a few icons and showed her how to do it. Anyway, she's not really allowed to use it now since it's exam week. But I'm just so glad that we picked the present for her...

3. I spent the whole day at my side garden today - my "kebun dapur". It's been raining daily now and very quickly grass has turned the place into a little forest. I pulled out the weeds and grass, cleared the pandan and lemongrass (gave one big plastic bag to Nazeem Maju - well, more on that later), found out that the tumeric plant is flourishing (now that the weeds are gone!), and put fertilizers to a few plants.
That banana tree is a miracle. It is pokok pisang tanduk given by Hubby's friend. We actually received 3 anak pokok. We planted 2 healthy ones outside. One very small and fragile anak pokok (there was only one small root) was left for almost a week before we decided just to plant it for the sake of planting a tree. I was so sure it will die. Know what - the 2 healthy ones outside got eaten up by, I don't know kambing or lembu that occasionally let loose by their owners. The small sickly banana tree is now this big.
