A Tour of Our Home

I'm taking you on a tour of a small apartment we now call home... It has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Yup, one bathroom for each of us! We let anak comel take the master bedroom. It is slightly bigger to accommodate her study table and bookshelf. She's going to be 21 this year. Never know when her jodoh will be. Might as well she gets the biggest bedroom. Hubbs and I occupy the 2nd bedroom which is actually just nice with attached bathroom. The 3rd bedroom is the common room. It has the biggest wardrobe (5 doors) where we put most of our stuff, serves as ironing room and my sewing room.

Our entrance. We seldom turn on the lights here because there is enough lighting from the corridor. In fact, the house has so much natural lighting our electricity bill is half than before! Alhamdulillah...
Dining area and living area. Lampu tu baru pasang about 2-3 weeks ago. The balcony is at the living room where we can all share. That's the main reason why we chose this instead of the other one.
Ample natural light means that we can put potted plants in the house including this beautiful tiny flower plant.
At first we planned built-in TV cabinet but the price was ridiculous. We just wanted a simple one. We set a budget and went to Ikea. However, this cabinet is much, much cheaper than the one we first wanted.
We are really satisfied with our kitchen cabinet especially that towering one. It took Hubbs and I weeks to plan (discuss, change, argue, change, discuss). I finally found something that suits both of our tastes on Instagram. It's actually the space for fridge (accessible from kitchen) and supposed to be just empty board facing the dining area. Hubbs added his idea - add about 8inches at the back, add doors and make it into a cupboard. That's where we store vacuum cleaner, medicines, and newly bought things like tissue, cleaning stuff, kitchen towels, etc.
This is the view I love to take in every morning. We always open the sliding doors wide and let the breeze in. It can be really windy at times and really cold on rainy days.
One of those cold, rainy days.
We wanted Ikea garden set but it was out of stock then. We found this set at HomePro. It's a nice place to just sit, have a drink and enjoy the view.
On a clear day, you can see KLCC, KL Tower and the new Merdeka Tower from here. Just one glance and we know what's the weather like in KL!
Anak comel's bedroom is currently vacant. She's just started staying in campus hostel last week. I hope she's experiencing campus life to the max after 2 semesters of online learning from home. Those balloons were graduation gift from her friends during her diploma convocation.
This is our kitchen bar counter. At first we planned to put 3 high stools. But when furniture started to arrive, the space didn't permit. So we left it as it is. In a way it's for the best as we have more space to move around.
Our small kitchen. Spaciously fits 2 people. So, anak comel can still help me cook and Hubbs can still help with the dishes. We learned a lot from our previous house, so this kitchen is as functioning and user-friendly as possible. Everything is within reach. Things organised accordingly and neatly. Serving dishes, utensils, electrical appliances, all are kept to a minimum. No more keeping stuffs that are not used.
The colour of the kitchen top and cabinet was chosen by anak comel. The quartz counter top is white marble-like, cabinet white and light wood colour. The light colours mean we have to clean it often or else there might be stains. But I really enjoy cooking and cleaning this new place, I don't really mind!
Finally, our yard. Another reason why we chose this house. The yard is quite spacious for an apartment. Enough to put washing machine, dryer (not the stackable ones), our rack from our old place to put pots and pans and plastic containers. That trolley was the first thing we bought when we started to move in. It helped a lot to transport our stuff.
Nowadays, when we plan to go for our grocery shopping, we would take the trolley down with us to the carpark.

Have a nice day folks. Stay safe!
