For the Love of One's Child

We completed Aliyah's Raya shopping last Saturday. Actually, I bought materials and got her baju kurung made even before Ramadhan. This is the first time in a couple of years that I actually bought/made her baju kurung other than the ones Linda and I sell. Why? This year she has grown very tall and we don't have her size anymore. Furthermore, let's see her wear something else!

We made full use of the huge discounts at Jusco and Aliyah ended up with one jeans, one cotton pants, one T shirt with hood and a belt. The only missing item is her shoes. Now, she has been wanting Crocs shoes for quite some time. We previously bought her a pair of pink fake Crocs for her daily use that cost only RM15. Then, after the raids shown on TV, she wanted real Crocs - well, I think after Hubby explained to her the differences between original and fake. And why the authorities seized the fake products (among others on how the Crocs company did all the research, spent a lot of money to produce good quality products, etc and some people simply copied the products with inferior quality and sell at very cheap price). My daughter is such a law abider and very tasteful too. Now she only wants original Crocs!

Both of us are actually quite broke at the moment. (I pray that client of ours speeds up our payment before Raya... Please... And I wish to give my staff Raya money.) But broke or not, our daughter must get her Raya stuff. So, we went to Subang Parade to check out the Crocs store. Our plan was to get Aliyah to try the shoes, get the size right and actually buy the shoes online where the price is a bit cheaper. But of course there is no guarantee that there will be her size.

Aliyah found the pair she wanted and paraded happily in it. The jeans, the cotton pants, the T Shirt and the belt altogether costs less than the Keeley shoes... I looked at those happy and excited eyes. I can't say no. I paid for the shoes.
And then she straight away put on the Raya shoes for the rest of the shopping trip, carefully walking on tip toes to avoid the shoes from getting dirty or scratched...
The pair she got was a shade darker than these.
