Living with Sarah

With the UPSR exams looming, I have become very anxious. Masalahnya, Aliyah memang relax saja. Until now (tinggal less than 2 weeks!), kalau tak remind dia - "what time is it now?", "what are you supposed to do now?", etc - memang dia akan relax doing her own thing. Alhamdulillah, lately she has improved a lot. Kalau dulu Math & Science memanjang dapat C, sekarang dah naik B. Ok lah tu. However, even though I am still very, very anxious, I have slowly started to accept the fact that - UPSR is just an exam. Lagipun, both of us have agreed that we are not going to send Aliyah to any boarding school. So, no pressure. I have to constantly remind myself that my daughter is very, very special and smart in many, many ways. Her Math & Science scores might not be A, but her abilities in other areas make me very proud. She has shown that she can be an entrepreneur after she started her own little business using the label-maker we bought her for her birthday. Our b

The past 2 weeks saw us planning for a new venture. As always, financial constraint is the barrier. Proceeds from the sale of our Puchong house is still in progress. (Dah nak masuk setahun dah ni!). So, we couldn't proceed with the plan. After discussions, alhamdulillah dapat financier. Tapi dah tak ada rezeki, the place we've been eyeing terlepas ke tangan orang lain. Lewat 2-3 jam saja. Terduduk la juga actually. Mood sour throughout the day. Tapi, my SIL Kak Ros kata - doalah semoga datang yang lebih baik. Insyaallah... The new venture tetap menjadi cita-cita. Just now found another place less than 1 km our office. Looks much better, better prospects, slightly higher rental. Kena fikir masak-masak dulu. Insyaallah... kena buat istiharah. If this goes through, we plan to focus only these two - the new venture and mysa. That's it. Semoga Allah permudahkan dan perkenankan. Dan semoga rezeki kami di situ.

Weekend yang santai dan menenangkan dengan terapi window shopping dengan the usuals. Since Aliyah's exams are just around the corner, dan sebenarnya belum spend time beraya dengan the usuals lagi, we headed to KJ last weekend. Nak bagi Aliyah spend time dengan the usuals sebab for the next 2 weeks dia kena study. Hubby ditinggalkan di rumah dengan basikal yang perlu direpair. Yup, bike servicing activity is back. So, just Aliyah and I ke rumah Mak Longnya. Abang Ijam dan Kak Zura dah sedia menunggu. Dah seminggu plan this outing sebab last weekend the usuals datang kejap sangat. Sampai saja terus ke Paradigm Mall. Aliyah, berbekalkan duit Raya yang sepatutnya Mommy masukkan ke dalam bank tapi Mommynya terhilangkan account number lalu tak jadi deposit dalam CDM, telah menunjukkan her true colours yang sangat similar dengan Kakak Titin - kaki shopping. Adoii... masuk Marks & Spencer nak T Shirt (tak de sale pulak tu), masuk kedai kasut nak sneakers. I told her that her well-ear

Alhamdulillah, semalam kedua-dua tokey Izzkin selamat bertunang. Congratulations. Semoga selamat ke jinjang pelamin. Bila? TBD.  Sesi perbincangan diketuai oleh datuk bakal pengantin. Sampai 3pm, 20 minutes later siap sarung cincin dan makan. Express!   Keluarga gumbira... Yang duduk paling depan tu kalau nasib baik naik sekali nanti :) Sebelum bertolak, baca doa selamat dulu dan makan-makan. 

Selamat Hari Raya. Maaf Zahir Batin. It's 9 Syawal today. Long holidays - 2 weeks. And I took the time to take a long rest as well. Laptop memang tak bukak. Bliss to have a good rest. We went back Melaka the day before Raya. Nak settlekan buat cheque dulu. That writing work only paid us 2 days before Raya. Walaupun masukkan cheque on Wednesday, clearnya after Raya juga. Sigh... By the time sampai Melaka, aktiviti memasak dah hujung-hujung. Sempat tolong kacau-kacau je. Raya actually pegi satu rumah je. Aliyah followed the rest of the clan beraya dengan Mak Usunya. Entahlah. Penat dan panas. Hubby punya sakit perut sepanjang bulan puasa still going on during Raya. So, duduk rumah je la. Seperti tahun lepas, 3rd Raya pegi holiday. We went to Avillion Admiral Cove PD again. The last stay was quite good. And Aliyah loves the pool. We went to the beach that evening and found a dead turtle. Quite huge. Sedihnya tengok. I wonder turtle tu sesat ke kat PD?  Less boats this time aro

It 24th Ramadhan. Time flies. Cepat sangat masa berlalu. The office is quiet. Aliyah ponteng today. Linda has started her Raya leave. As for me, I have started writing work for mysa. Little did I know that writing for kids would be so difficult. I was stuck with the first paragraph for 2 days - writing, deleting, rewriting... Yesterday I graduated to half a page. Last year's Ramadhan was better than this year - in many, many ways. Last year, I was much calmer, happier, even though I was broke. This year, I am jittery, depressed, and still broke. I so wish to break this unhappy barrier. Every time the depression hits, I think of the little bird that perched still on the same tree branch day after day. There must be a good reason why the little bird doesn't fly away. I should be friends with that little bird and share our stories.
